About
Wine Champ is a set of practical wine guides for travelers. Each guide is written to be read on a phone, at the level you choose: a five-second glance, a quick skim, or the full story.
The starting point is always local. In a wine region, the best experience is usually the wine made there, so the guides and the shelf scout lead with local bottles.
How the shelf scout handles your photo
- Your photo is shrunk on your phone before it’s sent, which also removes location and camera details.
- It goes to an AI service (Google Gemini, or Cloudflare’s AI as a backup) only to read the labels and prices, and isn’t stored on this site.
- When the free backup service is used, the provider may use the request to improve its products. Don’t photograph anything personal.
- We keep anonymous counts — the date, shop or restaurant, region, country and which service answered — to keep the scout running within its limits. No photos, no answers, no IP addresses.
- Picks are suggestions from what’s visible in the photo. Check the label and the price on the shelf before you buy.
